Nokia 5100 & 6100 series LCD Display Screen Installation
Westside Cellular recommends Professional Installation of Nokia LCD Display Screen Instructions are from several sources and may not be the
exact way or order each technician performs this procedure.
Items required: T6 screwdriver, dental pick or tweezers
compressed air cleaner and flat surface.
For best results, please follow these steps when self installing the lcd
screen:
1. Remove faceplate. ( FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS
FOR REPLACING FACEPLATE )
2. Remove damaged LCD by taking pointed tool and lifting clips on all four corners of the LCD
one at a time, until the LCD is removed.
Look at damaged LCD to see which direction the
contact strip (sponge with wires)is facing to replace the same direction.
3. Insert contact strip into LCD, if using your hands make sure they are clean first, oils and dirt from
your hands can damage the contact strip.
The contact strip is inserted the same way the strip is in
the screen you are removing, some face
up some face down. LCD usually includes two contact
strips, in case of corrosion.
4. Replace new LCD wide metal frame is top. Remove plastic protective cover on screen, do not touch screen, LCD will snap into place. Remember to check that the contact strip is installed.
IF SCREEN GOES BLANK WHEN USING PHONE, THE LCD PROBABLY HAS COME LOOSE, YOU WILL NEED TO REMOVE LCD AND BEND CLIPS ON CORNERS IN TO HOLD LCD TIGHTER.
Clean dust and debris from inside of front housing, and LCD before replacing.
5. Replace faceplate.
